Business Start-Up

I started a Network Marketing business in 1977, which is when I first learned about the soaring spirit and fulfilling dreams. Also, I learned that I can change the rules that society teaches us:

(1) go to school

(2) get good grades

(3) so we can go to college

(4) and get a good job.

Society’s rules worked well for most people at that time. However, people were not taught in school or by parents that there can be another way to be successful; that we can also become successful as an entrepreneur and a business owner. Society needs people that own businesses and provide jobs so others can earn an income. Unfortunately, in those days, there was little information available about becoming an entrepreneur and a business owner.

Network Marketing Became The Answer

Network Marketing companies showed people how they could be a business owner and control what happens to them. People learned that they could invest a little money and their spare time into a Network Marketing business. They also learned that doing that would affect their income and lifestyle more than they could do through a job.

Through Network Marketing, we learned that:

  • *We can change our stars if we want to;
  • *We can follow success principles that reward us with the things we want;
  • *We can obtain what’s important to us when we commitment to do so.

We cannot allow people to keep us in a box or prevent us from becoming who we want to be and from obtaining what we feel is important in life. We have the God-given right to be who we need to be and to do what we know we must do!

We cannot live our lives through other people and their expectations of us. For example, I had an amazing experience that changed my life; I will never be the same because of it. As a result, I wrote a book about my experiences after that and what I learned about chaos, peace, joy, and happiness. However, my family was against me writing the book because they believed I would fail miserably so they tried to keep me from following through with publishing it.

Overcoming Obstacles

Some of my family thought I wasn’t smart enough to write a book that people would buy. One son even said that I did not know anything about peace, joy, and happiness. He reminded me that I was nobody, I had no credentials (meaning I had no titles or letters after my name), and I had no accomplishments that would cause people to think I was an expert on the subject. He said that I was not credible enough for people to pay attention to my work and buy the book. He said the family was worried that, if no one bought my book, it would be devastating to me because I failed. Obviously, he didn’t know me as well as he thought he did.

This experience taught me that we have to go after what we feel we are supposed to do, even when everyone close to us says we cannot do it. In my case, people did buy my books and I did not fail; in fact, I helped a lot of people. I made the decision that “I Will Not Be Denied My Destiny” and proceeded to publish the book, along with a second publication as well (titled “Sex, What About It?”).

I completed the book in spite of the teasing I took from friends and family. Instead of giving up, I followed through with publishing and I’m pleased that I did. Many readers told me that the book helped them overcome problems they have not been able to resolve until they read the book. One woman said that I understood her better than anyone else has throughout her entire life. Another one said that I have the ability to mirror life in general. People were able to get through their problems and make their lives better because I would not allow family and friends to tease me or prevent me from what I knew I had to do.
